Welcome to The Calm Lab
A nervous-system-centered space for people whose bodies feel overwhelmed, tense, or stuck in stress. Many of us know what we should do to relax—but our bodies don't cooperate. That's not a willpower problem. That's a nervous system problem.
 
Here's what I teach:

- Polyvagal Theory — Understanding your three nervous system states

- Vagal Toning — Techniques to activate your parasympathetic response

- Somatic Practices — Movement that releases stored tension

- Trauma-Informed Yoga — Gentle practices that signal safety to your body

ABOUT ME

I'm a nervous system educator specializing in polyvagal theory and trauma-informed somatic practices.

But I'm also a human being who knows what it feels like when your body won't settle—when anxiety, burnout, or overwhelm take over and you can't think your way out of it.

I've lived it. And I've spent years studying the neuroscience behind why our bodies get stuck in protection mode—and how to shift out of it.

My work blends:

  • Academic training in Education (Bachelor's & Master's, Florida State University)

  • Advanced certifications in trauma-informed yoga, Yoga Nidra, and somatic practices  

  • Personal experience navigating nervous system dysregulation

  • Years of teaching people how to work WITH their bodies, not against them

I don't teach quick fixes. I teach the science—and the practice—of nervous system regulation.
